Celtic Connections '19

Celtic Connections, Glasgow’s annual folk, roots and world music festival, celebrating Celtic music and its connections to cultures across the globe, has drawn the curtains for another year.

From 17 January – 3 February 2019, 2,100 musicians from around the world descended on our Dear Green Place for 18 days of concerts, ceilidhs, talks, art exhibitions and workshops, filling our city with music and dance during the coldest months of the year.

Our fifth year of hosting Celtic Connections was our busiest and most vibrant yet, with music, food and dancing a-plenty (yes, we saw the videos you posted and we loved them!). We were delighted to again host the (sold out!) Late Night Sessions, giving those who prefer a more laid-back after-gig environment a place to sit down and enjoy an array of incredible talent from across the festival.

From our spectacular Galician Fiesta, celebrating Scotland's link to the music and food of the region, to hosting musicians from the USA and further afield at both concerts and the late night sessions, our latest collaborative ale with Celtic Connections was present across the festival, both here under our Seven Peaks and further afield.

Our 2019 Festival Ale took the form of a 4% Session IPA with it's crisp, citrus flavours enjoyed by performers and revellers alike, and we still have a limited amount left pouring exclusively here at the Drygate Brewhouse Bar and in our Beer Hall.

To all of you who celebrated with us under the Seven Peaks, we raise a glass and say thanks; We can't wait to see you again for Celtic Connections 2020, but feel free to come and visit us sooner for the freshest Drygate beer you can find, soul-soothing food and more excellent events at the BBC Alba Awards Trad Music Venue of the Year.

Sláinte!
