#DRYGATERECOMMENDS: OMNIPOLLO'S LEON

Share

There’s a rather relateable explanation of Leon, a pale ale from Sweden’s Omnipollo brewery:

"Tired of talking my friends into pit stops at beer bars before heading out - in fear of having to drink bland lager all night - I set out to craft an ale that would act as companion throughout the evening. Fit for beer geeks and party freaks alike, Leon is assertively hopped and fermented dry using champagne yeast. The yeast and the hops in combination with a simple malt bill provides the beer with a quality of being rich in taste yet refreshing. Skål!"

We couldn't agree more - a Belgian style pale ale, this is one of those beers which has got it all: fruit, biscuity malt, and a hint of herbal and floral notes. For the unaquainted, the award-winning Omnipollo boys are a duo we've followed for a while now (well, since they started in 2011) as they do interesting things; namely, come up with the recipes back at their super cool brewery in Sweden, then travel round the globe to craft the brews.

Although not technically an IPA, Leon was actually featured in First We Feast’s 30 IPAs To Drink Before You Die. They may well be right.

It's available now in our Bottle Shop (open 12 noon - 8pm on weekdays, and 12 noon - 10pm weekends) for £4.10.
