FT006 - Gürders

Share Blog

Brewed on our 250L Studio Brewery by Head Brewer Dave, FT006 - 'Gürders' is the latest beer released from our small-batch series.

The Beer:
Coming in at 7% 'Gürders' is a Belgian White Stout inspired by Scotland's favourite non-alcoholic beverage: Irn Bru. The malt bill is made up of Best Ale, Oats, Wheat and Special B, avoiding the traditional dark + roast malts associated with a stout, giving FT006 a light golden hue.

Fermented on BE-256 to give a traditional dry, spicy Trappist flavour profile with a fruity redolence of fig + plums and a subtle black pepper bite, 'Gürders' is hopped with a small amount of Bravo + Brambling Cross alongside additions of Orange and Lime peel in the boil. Post-fermentation the beer was dosed with Scottish raspberries, ginger (not the bottled kind) + chili to impart the flavour of Scotland's other national drink to our first White Stout.

Vitals:
OG: 1.075
FG: 1.018
Adjunts: Orange Peel, Lime Peel, Raspberries, Ginger, Chili
