Drygate's Hogmanay Disco Get Down w/ Al Kent, Ray Harris & Mash
Drygate's Hogmanay Disco Get Down with Disco Don Al Kent (Million Dollar Disco / BBE), award winning Acid Jazz journeyman and Disco supremo Ray Harris and DJ, producer and journalist Mash (Mixmag)
For two decades Glasgow based Mash has been DJ’ing, producing records, writing, and broadcasting in the dance scene. His Compact Disco edits have been played by the likes of Julio Bashmore, Groove Armada, and The Revenge. Once suitably warmed up, charismatic Ray Harris will play a one-off Studio 54 inspired live set. With a career spanning over ten years Harris magically blends a unique mix of Acid Jazz, Latin, Disco, Soul and Bossa with imprints of a distinctive 60’s and 70’s style. To welcome in the wee hours of 2018 and to ensure you start the New Year on the good foot we have Disco Don Al Kent. If you thought disco was music for the back room, think again. Al's sound is big and bad, perfectly mixed in a way Ron Hardy would be proud of. His style has earned him serious praise from many of his peers like Sadar Bahar, Mike Huckaby, Theo Parrish, Dimitri From Paris, Horse Meat Disco and Joey Negro (who once famously called him Scotland's answer to Walter Gibbons).
If that wasn't quite enough there will also be various other happenings throughout the night including a complimentary photo booth, Soul Train dance off, and bespoke visuals.
