NEW ON TAP: DRYGATE'S RYEBOCK CLASSICS
The almost competitive drive towards coming up with brilliant craft beer names is, arguably, part and parcel of the whole craft beer appeal and this one is no different. Introducing the excellently titled RYEBOCK CLASSICS - or, the first ever collaboration between our two brewers Jake and Ed, originally forming part of a Drygate 'showcase' to prove what they could do.
It's a twist on a type of strong German lager called a bock, spiced up quite literally with a hefty addition of malted rye. Though fermented using a traditional German lager strain, this was preceded by a short, partially open ferment which incorporated some wild yeasts - the stuff feared by many brewers. Could this be Jake and Ed wanting to prove their commitment to fearless brewing?
Have a try for yourself - it's pouring now at £4 for 2/3.
