While their moniker might conjure stereotypes of millennials demanding safe spaces, don’t be fooled: the Norwegian/Irish Snowflake Trio is named for the uniqueness of every performance, thanks to their exploratory ensemble approach and seasoned improvisational prowess. Among the line-up, genre-busting accordionist Frode Haltli has earned virtuoso status across the realms of cutting-edge jazz, avant-folk, contemporary classical and experimental music. Vegar Vårdal, on fiddle and Hardanger, combines deep traditional roots with pan-European musical appetites, while free-spirited Irish flautist and singer Nuala Kennedy’s past collaborators range from Bonnie Prince Billy to multicultural Danish band Himmerland. Jigs and reels, Halling and polskas mix and match with original material, unpredictably but always enthrallingly.
Over 14's only, under 18's should be accompanied by an adult over 18 years.
